PBS Indies: Circus School

I was over at The Lost Art of Handbalancing and I saw this fantastic documentary about Shanghai Circus School in China.  How China trains its young athletes has been the subject of controversy for a while now, especially since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.  It should be stated though that China also has the best gymnasts and acrobats in the world.  At the Beijing Olympics, China took home eleven gold medals, two silver and five bronze for a total of 18 medals in gymnastics alone.  The United States ,who came in second place for overall gymnastics medal count, only took home ten (and only two were gold).

Please forgive the ridiculous amount of advertisements at the beginning of the video and pay special attention to the handbalancing act at the end.  Unbelievable.  You should also be sure to check out The Lost Art of Handbalancing for a plethora of information on the subject, from tutorials to motivation and more.
